How to Make Creamy Coleslaw

Introduction: How to Make Creamy Coleslaw

Easy, simple to make, creamy, and delicious coleslaw.

Step 1: What You'll Need

Liquid mix stuff:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup granulated white sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper (crushed)

The bulk:
8 cups chopped cabbage (about a head)
1/4 cup shredded carrot (about a medium carrot)

Measuring cup
Big spoon
A big bowl
A whisk (optional, easier to mix liquids with)
A smaller bowl (optional to mix liquids in)
Measuring spoon

Step 2: Making It

Mix together all of the components in the liquid mix, you may do this in a deepest smaller bowl with a whisk (so that you only have to pour it over the bulk, making it easier to mix together since it's not all at the bottom).

As you may have seen I'm just using two 14 oz bags of coleslaw mix instead of chopping the cabbage and carrot, if you are going to do this then keep in mind that one bag (14oz) will be sufficient (two would require double the liquid mix).
Anyway once you've cut the bulk up, put it in the big bowl and mix in the liquid mix very well. After that pop it in the fridge for a little over 2 hours and enjoy.

Good Instructable. There are coleslaws at our local store, but they have a bitter taste, due to their using the core of the cabbage. Home made is always better (and less expensive) even if you use mix. Thanks for the recipe, mine always comes out a little different due to me not measuring ingredients.
