Infrared Control 3 Channels CD4017

1.Since I was a child, I've always had a great admiration for electronics, I've always been struck by the fact of making things by myself, that's why, today I bring you my first Instructable, I clarify that it is a prototype, It is not functional even one hundred percent, but I will show all the steps that I have carried out, as well as the schematic circuit and the PCB, so that anyone can have fun putting together and modifying this circuit, without more, let's enter in detail about this system. This system consists mainly of an integrated circuit CD4017, well known in the world of electronics, in this case we will use it to make a circuit that can be applied to the domotica, this circuit will allow us, through an infrared TV control activate three different loads, as could be a fan, an air conditioning, in short, there are no limits! .... It is a very easy, simple and fast to build perfect circuit for people who are starting in this world, besides it is done With pure electronics, it does not contain or need programming, without more we are going to give it to you !!

Step 1: Let's Learn a Little About the IC CD4017

The CD4017 integrated circuit is a counter and divider up to 10. This type of circuit is technically known as a multi-stage jhonson counter (in this case, 5).

CD4017 is frequently used as a light sequencer and low frequency splitter. It is very popular among amateurs and students who are new to electronics.

The CD4017, can be purchased for little money (1 dollar on average), its low price makes it ideal in testing and experimentation circuits. Below we can see the description of its pins, which are 16 in total.

The power supply of the integrated circuit is done through pin 16 and due to its CMOS technology, the CD4017 can be powered from 3 to about 15 volts of direct current. Your outputs (10 in total, from 0 to 9) start from pin 3 (Q0) and are not found sequentially, ending at pin 11 (Q9), as you can see in the image.

In order for the CD4017 to perform its actions, it must receive a train of pulses on pin 14. Each time it receives a positive edge, the CD4017 will advance one position on its counter and when it reaches the end, it will activate pin 14 (carry out ) where we can connect another CD4017 integrated circuit to extend the count up to 20 steps. This configuration is usually called "cascade connection".

Step 2: The Circuit

The circuit is very basic, although I recognize that it requires some improvements, as well as this, we can use it to perform the respective tests, consists mainly and only of the integrated circuit CD4017, which as you know, is a counter, the pulses will give them SW1 , in this case I have put a button for the simulation, but the idea is to replace it with an infrared receiver, so that each time we generate a pulse with the control of our TV, this pulse, activate the CD4017 counter and obtain the desired result , I invite you to make this circuit in a simulator before taking it to real life, so you can experiment and get familiar with it.

Step 3: Fabrication of the Prototype in PCB

Step 4: Project and Final Assembly
