Step 1: Gather Ingredients

Crockpot

3lbs of apples sliced (Fuji or Gala)

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp ginger powder

1/2 nutmeg

2 tbsp stevia (or sugar)

pinch of salt

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup Jim Beam Apple

Step 2: Put Ingredients in the Crockpot

Slice the apples (you can leave the skin on!)

Add spices, water, and bourbon.

Stir everything together.

Step 3: Cook Apple Butter

Cover and cook on low for 9 hours.

Step 4: Stir

Stir occasionally.

The apples will begin to cook down.

Step 5: Puree

Use an immersion blender to puree the apple butter.

If you don't have an immersion blender, you can use a blender.

Let the apple butter cook on low for 1 hour.

Step 6: Storage

Store your apple butter in the refrigerator (if it lasts through the day) for up to 2 weeks.

You can keep additional apple butter in the freezer until you are ready to use.

There is only 1/4 C in the whole recipe and it makes about 4 C of apple butter so it is not very alcoholic.

Okay, I must try this! Love apple butter and so interested in what the Jim Beam adds to the flavor.
