A Quick and easy Inexpensive rug with minimal materials
Step 1: Materials Needed
From left to right
- A piece of cloth large enough to fit all of the rope.
- Construction adhesive
- Natural fibre rope (16mmx15m)
Step 2: Prepping the Rope
Unravel the ends of the rope carefully and add a bit of adhesive to the inside.
Press it together firmly until it is secure.
This prevents fraying.
Step 3: Starting the Rug
On a Large flat surface, place the piece of cloth down.
Adhere the one end of the rope tightly to itself.
Draw a small spiral in the centre of the cloth.
Press the coiled rope down onto the adhesive.
Step 4: Enlarging the Rug's Diameter
Add adhesive to both the edges of the rope and the cloth as you are coiling the rope up.
Repeat this process until all of the rope is used up.
Step 5: Cutting the Excess
Cut off the excess cloth to finish up the rug and use the adhesive to adhere any loose parts for a better finish.
