Introduction: K'NERF Assault Rifle
My entry to the Toy Rods & Connectors Contest is based on my two favorite childhood toys. Nerf has always been one of my childhood passions, as well as K'nex. Me and my cousins would always have an annual Nerf war. Ever since I got my first K'nex set, I have strived to innovate and engineer new creations. I see lots of K'nex projects and a lot of Nerf projects here at Instructables. So I decided to combine the two. Out of which has come my newest project, the K'nerf Assault Rifle. I use the term K'nerf to describe a KNEx & NERf combination. Out of my appreciation for the building of K'nex weapons, I decided to have the base of my K'nerf project to be K'nex. And I would design a system to incorporate Nerf attachments to my K'nex gun. One of my reasons for making such a thing, is that K'nex is wonderful to build with and Nerf already has premade attachments, ready to be used. They have numerous sights, scopes, grips, lights, and many other attachments. Another reason to build a K'nerf gun, is combining two already awesome toys into an epic combination. So, without further ado, here is the statistical analysis of my K'nerf gun:

Holds up to three NERF Attachments
Small Caliber Round (Green Rod)
Holds Twenty+ Rounds

Lightweight & Maneuverable

Step 1: Piece List
For your convenience, I have attached a piece list to let you know what you need to have in order to create this K'nerf creation. I have found it easier to make a creation if you already have all the pieces gathered instead of hunting them down later. (Pictured above Are broken parts that you will need)
Gray/Speckled Gray(2 slots):7
Broken White Rod:8
Broken Blue Rod:1-2
Broken Orange Connector:3
Make Sure to Read All Image Notes, There are notes on EVERY Picture!
Step 2: Adjustable Stock
In this step you will build the back portion of the gun, a heavily modified stock borrowed from TheAwesomestDude. Please follow all image notes carefully. Feel free to ask for help if you need it. An attached photo and description of your problem would be great!
Step 3: Main Body of the Gun (Mech Box)
To have a workable weapon you must of course include the Mech Box or it will not function correctly. This is the most crucial part of any build. So with that warning please follow all image notes, or don't (but it will suck if you don't). Feel free to ask for help if you need it. An attached photo and description of your problem would greatly appreciated!
Step 4: Fake Barrel
Title tells it like it is, this is the step where you, the builder, make a fake barrel to look cool. The fake barrel has no other purpose than looking good and attaching attachments. All it is is a big box of air for the ammunition to fly through. And as always follow the image notes, or you will lose your way and end up with something not quite right. Feel free to ask for help if you need it. An attached photo and description of your problem would be greatly appreciated!
Step 5: Assembly!
Yay!!!! You're almost finished! Now we can attach the big chunks that we have been building throughout the instructable. Please follow all image notes(you could screw something big up if you don't). Feel free to ask for help if you need it. An attached photo and description of your problem would be greatly appreciated!
Step 6: Adding Panels(Optional)
While this step is entirely unnecessary, it makes you gun look badass. 'Nough said. Please follow all image notes. Feel free to ask for help if you need it. An attached photo and description of your problem would be greatly appreciated!
Step 7: Magazine/Clip
The thing that gets the ammunition to the chamber. Build it. This is one of the hardest parts of the gun to keep together while building. Please follow all image notes, trust me, you will probably need to. Feel free to ask for help if you need it. An attached photo and description of your problem would be greatly appreciated!
Step 8: Ramrod & Other Assorted Tips and Tricks
Well, you've made it. This the end. "Dramatic music playing in background". Well, I hope you enjoy your new favorite toy combination. Have fun with you K'nerf Assault Rifle. Time to Accessorize! Don't forget to look at image notes! Feel free to ask for help if you need it. An attached photo of you problem would be greatly appreciated!
