Using a Kitty litter bucket and a leftover piece of a curtian rod I made this holder for a spool of wire I had.
I cut slots in the bucket so the spool would fit inside the bucket. Drilled holes for the curtian rod. Then filled the bottom with some gravel for weight. The peice of curtian rod I had is listed as 1 3/8 thick and I drilled the same size hole in the bucket. For me this proved to be a nice tight fit and kept the rod in place without needing to put stops on the ends of the peice of curtian rod to keep it in place.
