K'nex Pistol Repeater

About: I like playing PS3, add me if you want: wizkid7. I am also a huge football fan and played 3 years so far.

Intro: K'nex Pistol Repeater

This is my first k'nex pistol i've built. It gets really good ranges, and is very durable. It has a strong trigger and frame so you can lay on the elastic power. The trigger has never faultered, nor has the gun jammed. It is so reliable because of the way the barrel is made. It doesn't hold the as many rounds as other pistols on the site. The hopper holds 3 rounds.

This gun was actually born because my friend said to me "I bet I can make a better k'nex gun than you". I said ok lets have a competition. The rules were to built a pistol within 2 hours. We set up a wall and started building. The wall prevented the both of us from stealing ideas from each other.

He built this weird funky thing, and I built the pistol shown in the instructable. He said "wow I didn't think you were that good".

Have fun!

Step 1: Piece Count

This gun doesn't use alot of pieces, so any k'nexer should be able to built it. The counts may be off by a few pieces. It should be pretty accurate. Leave a comment if any of the piece counts are wrong.

green: 42
white: 38
blue: 2
grey OR black rod: 1

white: 18
yellow: 13
orange: 6
dark grey: 9
light grey: 5
tan clips: 4
blue end cap: 1
hinge: 1

black Y connector: 7
blue spacer: 2

Total: 146 parts

Step 2: The Barrel

Lets start off by building the barrel. It is a bit challenging putting it together, but you can get through it.

1. Build the side panels.
2. Gather 11 white rods.
3. Attach the white rods where shown.
4. Build the internal parts for the barrel.
5. Add the internal parts you made.
6. Make sure the blue end cap is here.
7. Add the panel.

The barrel is very flimsy, but it will be solid and strong once you add the body.

Step 3: The Body

Now we'll build the body. It's really easy.

1. Build these panels.
2. Gather 3 white rods.
3. Add the 3 rods where shown.
4. Add the middle panel.
5. Add the outer panel.

Was that hard? Next step!

Step 4: The Trigger

Now we'll build the trigger. It's a little clunky but it can hold alot of weight.

1. Build this and save it. We'll use this in step 6.
2. Build the parts for the trigger.
3. Attach the light grey connectors to the dark grey connector attached to the white rod.
4. Attach the blue rod.
5. Attach the hinge connected to white rod to the blue rod.
6. Attach the dark grey connectors with the Y connectors to the blue rod.

Step 5: The Handle

you're almost done! Build the handle now.

1. Gather and build these parts.
2. Attach both white rods where shown.
3. Attach the middle panel.
4. Attach the outer panel.
5. Add this.
6. And on the other side do the same.

Step 6: Final Assembly

Time to assemble the gun. You're almost done.

1. Build the ram.
2. Gather everything you built.
3. Attach the barrel to the body.
4. Attach the Handle the the rest of the gun.
5. Put the trigger on by using the part you built earlier.
6. On the flip side, add the space and tan connector.
7. Make sure the white rod goes through the gap into the barrel.
8. Slide a rubberband through the hole.
9. Put the rubberband here.
10. Same on the flip side.

Step 7: How to Load, and an Important Thing I Forgot to Add.

You must add this, if you don't the barrel will just blow up.

1. Put tape on.
2. Put ram in gun.
3. On the other side of the gun. add 2 green rods.
4. Put tape over both green rods.
5. Put a rubberband here, it loops around the whole gun.
6. This is how it should look where the ram enters the barrel.
7. Gather 2 rubberbands of you choice.
8. Wrap one on top like this.
9. Add the one on the bottom.

1. Cock the gun.
2. Gather ammo
3. Put them in and rubberband them down.

If you want to, you can shoot the pusher, but it will fall out if the gun is aimed down.

Step 8: Finished!

You're done building! Just don't shoot at anything important like shooting your dog, or your neighbors windows and stuff. Rate and drop a comment. Thank you for building.

Should I post my other pistol I built? Here is a picture:

Wow LoL. That gun looks like it was rendered with some kind of software. Did you actually build it?

Reply 9 years ago on Introduction

It's my Z35, I made a real knex one and then made a computer model, instructions will be coming out soon, check out my YouTube video or slideshow to learn more.

Good luck, they're kinda hard to make without making alot of individual barrels while still making it look good.

Thank you, I will be using Extreme Builder's full auto mechanism as a base, making the structure multiple times stronger and adding a new mechanism for the power source, I have had the idea for over a year now, I made one attempt at it months ago, but now that I have more experience and have done some drawings, brainstorming, and work on a 3D model, I decided to have another go at it.

EB's full auto was just bakenbitz's full auto with the motor replaced with a crank.

It has a different structure though doesn't it? Can you please post a link to Bakenbitz' mg?

the structure may be different, but the basic mech is similar (except for the crank). bakenbitz deleted everything except his lancer slideshow and his rat trap car.

Bakenbitz moved to knex innovation. You should check out his AK-47, it's amazing.

I usually don't plan out my projects. I just build as I go. That is probably why I need to do 3 days of tweaking after I build a gun. That is probably why sometimes I get irritated and throw my k'nex back in the bin and forget about that project. You didn't rate the pistol yet?

Reply 9 years ago on Introduction

I don't plan pistols at all, bigger guns (like my Z35 assault rifle) I plan in my head, and for very complex guns I use my computer and a pad of paper.

Reply 9 years ago on Introduction

I mean I rifle I built. Click my name and look at the slideshow. I didn't plan that. Therefore it took a long time to make. I don't really take a scientific approach to build guns.
