LED Constellation Canvas

Just an easy way to bring a little bit of outer space in your room.

Step 1: Materials

You will need:

1. Canvas
2. Acrylic paints
3. Paintbrushes
4. Sponges
5. LED battery powered lights

Step 2: Paint the Canvas

The technique to paint the canvas is really easy. You just dip the sponge in the colour and then tap it to the canvas. You can start with the black paint and continue with the other colours. Use blue, purple, pink, red, white or any other colour you want. You can also mix them to create a new colour. The colours will blend really nice, so don't be afraid to use any colour and any combination you want , you just need to use your imagination.

Step 3: Create the Stars

Dip the painting brush in the white paint and then flick it above the canvas. This way you will create little white dots as the stars.You can also mix green, yellow and white paint (like the picture), that gives the effect of glowing.

Step 4: Place the LEDs

Find a constellation you want (I chose the constellation of Orion), and draw it on the back of the canvas with a pencil. Remember to draw the reflected image (the way you see it in the mirror) , so that when you see the canvas from the front, it will be correct. Make some holes where the stars of the constellation are and place the lights.
Open the lights andddd... you're ready!!
