Introduction: LIFE SIZE MINECRAFT SWORD WALL PIECE.

About: Follow me as I make awesome projects and DIY's. :)

It's halloween coming, so everyone is in a hurry of decorating their house.I think this project is the best and the easiest. So let's get started.

Step 1: GATHERING THE MATERIALS

Materials Required:

  • Colors
  • Pair of brushes
  • Glue
  • A marker or pencil
  • Newspaper
  • Cardboard sheet (from scrap)

Tools Required:

  • Glue gun
  • Cutter (or anything else for cutting)
  • Scale
  • Printer

Step 2: PRINTING

Search the web for "minecraft sword" and print the image on an A4 size paper. This will really help while making the sword.

Step 3: STARTING WITH SWORD

So I had divided the sword in three parts:

  1. Middle part
  2. Bottom part
  3. Upper part

Step 4: MIDDLE PART

In the above image you can get an idea of how we are going to make the middle part.So for the middle part we are going to cut 3 square, 2 rectangle "A", 2 rectangle "B".The measurements in the above image are just for an idea the real measurements are as follows:

  • 3 squares of length & breadth = 12 cm.
  • 2 rectangles "A" of length = 15 cm, and breadth = 6 cm.
  • 2 rectangles "B" of length = 12 cm, and breadth = 6 cm.

After cutting the shapes, join them as shown.

  1. Turn one rectangle in the diamond shape.
  2. Join 1 rectangle "B" to the right end of the square.
  3. Now join rectangle "B" to the right end of the square.(join them end-to-end).
  4. Do the same with the remaining rectangles and 1 square.
  5. You should get 2 same structures.
  6. Now join both the structures to the sides of the remaining square.
  7. It's done.HURRAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Step 5: BOTTOM PART

Bottom part is the easiest one.For the bottom part you will need to cut out two small squares and a big squares. The length of the squares are as follows:

  1. Small square length & breadth = 12 cm.
  2. Big square length & breadth = 15 cm.

Now for joining them, take the small squares and glue them underneath of one another then glue them to the big square. NOTE : drink some water after doing this :)

Step 6: UPPER PART

Upper part is also quiet easy.Fro the upper part you will need 8 squares of length & breadth = 15 cm.

Now join them as you joined the bottom part. For the perfection you should divide the square in 4 little squares and join one little square to the little square of the other square.Well a little confusing but you can get help from the images.

Step 7: JOINING ALL TOGETHER

Now join all the parts together well I don't know how to explain this topic but you can take the help of the printout we took out before.Join them with the glue gun and for the support I used some black electrician tape at the back.

Step 8: NEWSPAPER PASTE

Now get a bowl and mix water and glue in equal amounts. After you are done tear the newspaper into small pieces, after that put a piece of newspaper on the sword and cover it completely with the paste. This will give the sword some hardness and it will make the coloring easy.

Step 9: COLORING

This is the worst part.I used acrylic color as they are cheap and they works well.I used black, white, brown, blue and green acrylic color. For making the shades of brown and black I mixed black and white with the colors to make them lighter or darker, for making the sandy brown I mixed blue with orange. For coloring the upper part perfectly divide one square in 9 little squares as you can see in the images.

After the coloring is completed outline the whole square with black marker.

Step 10: HANGING IT ON THE WALL

I glued a jute thread at the back of the sword as its look's royal to me but you can use some other type of thread too. After that hammer 2 nails in the wall you need to hang the sword.I added a fox light at the bottom of the sword for special look.
