Don't you just love the summertime when the lavender fields are blossoming and you can smell them even from a distance? Well I certainly do! Being inspired by that, today I am going to show you how to make a lavender field you can wear as jewelry.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

For this beautiful necklace you are going to need:

Fabric

Scissors

Embroidery hoop

Embroidery thread

A needle

Chain

Super glue

Toothpicks to spread the glue

Pendant base

Pliers

Jump rings

A lobster clasp

Gather all of your supplies.Put your fabric of choice to your embroidery hoop - I used cotton, however you can use whatever you like or have.I traced the diameter of my base with a pencil to make embroidering a little bit easier. My embroidery thread came with 6 strings.Since my base was very tiny, I removed 4 of them and used a thin string of embroidery thread.I did this to all four colours.Thread the green thread and let' s get to embroidering!

Step 2: Embroider the Greenery

I traced three lavenders to know where to embroider.I started with a back stitch.

First start by making a knot.I double knotted it,since the thread was too thin.

Put the needle down through the fabric and bring it back up.
Pull the thread through up to the knot at the end. Make a small backstitch in the fabric inserting the needle in the same place you started.Repeat this stitch until you are done.

Step 3: Embroider the Lavender

I used three shades of purple to make the lavenders, but it's totally ok to use just one.

This stitch is called lazy daisy.

Bring the needle and thread to the front.

Put the needle back in right next to where you came out without pulling it all the way.

Take the thread and wrap it around the needle.Pull the thread all the way through to create a loop.

Secure your loop by bringing the thread back down on the other side of the loop.

If the centre of your petal is hollow, you can do a back stitch to fill it.

Repeat this with all of your colors.

Step 4: Almost Done!

Cut your embroidery and do a simple running stitch all around it.

Put your base cabochon on the back and pull your thread tight.

To secure it even better make some criss cross stitches on the back.

Step 5: Glue Your Embroidery

Be careful with that superglue!

I used toothpicks to spread it all around.

Press your cabochon and apply pressure for a minute.

Put your pendant under something heavy for 2-3 minutes - I put it under a stack of books.

Step 6: Assemble Your Necklace

Get your chain, lobster clasp, jump rings and begin assembling.

Take a jump ring and open it up.Put your lobster clasp and your chain and close it.Repeat with another jump ring on the other side.

Put your embroidered pendant.

Step 7: You Are Done!

And that's about it. Wear your necklace out or in - wherever you like!

Thank you so much for taking your time to read or even look at my amateur photos! I hope you like it and try it out for yourself!
