Introduction: Leather Anchor Bracelet

About: I'm an American ex-pat living in Greece, I enjoy cooking, sewing and all crafts.

Hello, You will not believe how easy this bracelet is to make!

It is the perfect gift for the man in your life, or perhaps you have a SEA loving girlfriend as well (me, that's me!)

I made one of these for myself last year and will now show you how you can make your own! Also I just looked it up and you would not believe this place is selling it for $55, WHAT!

Or write me and I will make you one for a lot less ;) hehe.

Step 1: Materials

This is the hardest part, purchasing your materials, lol

If you do not have these items on hand, you will need to buy them.

5 mm Leather cord (you purchase this in increments by the yard, 1 yard is more than enough to make 1 bracelet, you can probably even get 2 bracelets out of 1 yard)

Anchor End Bar Clasps*

Measuring Tape

Super Glue

*If you use a different clasp you will need to adjust the size of leather cord you cut, this clasp is 1.5"inches long, so if your clasp is 1" then add another 1/2" to your leather cord measurement. Also be sure to re-check the size of the leather cord needed if using a different clasp.

I purchase most of my items off of Etsy, but you can type in the title into Google and find these clasps in other places like Amazon, Aliexpress and Panda Hall, the store I purchased from has closed, but I found similar and even some other cool clasps on Etsy.

Step 2: Let's Make It!

Measure the wrist of the recipient, if it is you then have someone help you measure your own wrist :)

Double the measurement and ADD 1/2" (for me, my wrist was 7inches)

*Cut your 5mm Leather cord (for me, that was at 14 1/2" inches, remember 7 x 2 + .5"= 14.5", so be sure to have the correct measurement for your recipient)*

Fold your leather cord cut piece in half, slide on the Slider spacer.

Super Glue Information: Be sure your super glue can be used for both Leather and Metal!

Now drip some Super Glue into the end of the Anchor Bar and place the 2 cut ends of the Leather Cord into the holes, hold it still for a little bit to have it harden, then leave it alone for a good 10 - 15 minutes.

*If you use a different clasp you will need to adjust the size of leather cord you cut, this clasp is 1.5"inches long, for example if your clasp is 1" then add another 1/2" to your leather cord measurement. Also be sure to re-check the size of the leather cord needed if using a different clasp.

Step 3: Let's Wear It!

On the one that I made myself last year, I didn't really like the "silver" part where the cord entered on the Anchor part, so I added some of my Fabric Washi that I sell in my Etsy store, it is Alison Glass fabric and matches the color of the cord perfectly, and I prefer this look :) See pictures below for how I cut this fabric washi and applied.

Second picture above is my daughter, it is a little big for her, but still fits fine.
