Introduction: Lemon Bars #HMS2018
Lemon bars are a delicious treat with just the right amount of sweet and tart. You can serve them at parties or just for something to eat as a dessert for yourself. Lemon bars are a classic dessert you can make and are great for any occasion. To top it all off they are very simple to make.
Step 1: Materials
The materials you will need for this lemon bar recipe are the following;
-1 cup of butter (softened)
-2 cups of white sugar
-2 1/4 of all-purpose flour
-2 lemons (juiced)
-2 Medium Bowls
-9x13 baking dish
-Powdered Sugar (optional)
Step 2: Making the Crust
To make the crust take 1/2 cup of white sugar and 2 cups of all-purpose flour and put them in a medium bowl and stir till the flour and sugar are mixed well. Then add your softened butter. To mix the butter into your flour and sugar mixture it is best to use your hands. This way you can break up the butter into smaller pieces. When the butter is in smaller pieces mix it around a little bit. Make sure not to mix to much because then the next step will be difficult. Then take the mixture and put it into a greased baking pan (preferably glass). Flatten the mixture down into the bottom of the pan. Then, place it into a preheated 350 degree stove for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 3: Making the Filling
To make the filling place the rest of the flour and sugar into another medium bowl. Mix until blended evenly. Then whisk the eggs into the mix. Then add the juice of two lemons and whisk thoroughly.
Step 4: Assembling Your Two Mixtures
Take your crust out of the oven. Make sure when you take your crust out of the oven that your are very careful because the pan will be hot. Carefully pour the filling into the crust. Place it back in the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. When it is finished baking, remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool for 20 minutes. Then the floor is yours. You can add garnishes like candied lemons, powdered sugar or even lemon zest.
