Introduction: Lentil Chili Cheese Dip (Game Day Fare)

A simple lentil and chili bean dip with lots of cheese!

Step 1:

When I started dating my favorite guy he was a fan of football but not the kind of fan who watched every game, or so I thought. Football is on in our house 3 maybe 4 days a week and I had no idea football was on that often. I also had no idea how much he LOVES football!

Funny thing about football is you will pick up players names, team stats, coaches names, etc. Just by being in the room. So over the years I’ve learned a few things. Don’t stand in front of the tv when the quarterback is about to attempt a play-action pass. Don’t worry if you hear lots of yelling from the players or spectators in your house. And above all get ready to high-five when a touchdown happens. Never as it’s happening, only after it actually happens because we don’t have the best team. It’s not a given it will happen. Don’t want to jinx it.

Serves 4-5

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.5-ounce) can chili beans, drained
  • 1 (19-ounce) can classic lentil soup
  • 1 (8-ounce ) brick Neufchâtel or cream cheese
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Place chili beans, lentil soup, and cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat 3-5 minutes or until cheese melts into chili. Stirring after 3 minutes. You will need oven mitts. My bowl was pretty hot after 3 minutes and it’s a microwave safe bowl. Add cheddar cheese and stir again. Serve hot or warm.
