Let the Scan Be With You!

Be creative, have fun and scan the world around you!

Step 1: Get Out of the House

Grab the scanner and go to explore!

Step 2: Find Super Spots

Memorable spots are fun with 3D scan! Where would you go?

Step 3: Scan!

To have the perfect scan remember to:

- find a place with shadow as direct sunlight will interrupt the sensor of the scanner

- the person or object has to stand still! Very still!

Step 4: Generate the Files

To prepare files for 3D printing you can use many different programs, but free softwares like Autodesk 123D Design and Meshmixer can do the job just fine!

Step 5: Bring It to Life

3D printing time! We used local 3D Hubs in Aarhus to print our models.

These look so awesome! I was wondering if you have any idea why so many people are dissatisfied with this product? Here's a link to the Amazon Reviews (not plugging Amazon); but, I am keenly interested in trying to understand why so many people aren't getting these kinds of results. It's hard to ignore that kind of dissatisfaction. After reading this I went out to price this scanner, and that's what I found.

Wow, those prints are pretty impressive! Can you tell a bit about the scanner you're using... is that a handheld thing?

Hi Downunder35m - Sense scanner is like a cam which takes a lot of pictures while you walk around the desired object or person. In 1-2 minutes you have a digital 3D file of the object. We used 123D Design and Meshmixer to clean the files for mistakes and to create the platform. Save as .STL and ready to 3D print! ;)

Hey Seamster! Thanks! Yes we used Sense handheld scanner from 3D Systems and they also offer iSense for iPad if you are interested.
