LibreOffice Base Tutorial Part 2 (Filter Form - Copy-Paste a Record Inside a Form)

Introduction: LibreOffice Base Tutorial Part 2 (Filter Form - Copy-Paste a Record Inside a Form)

In this part, I make a new sub-form that has a direct link to the main table. I will disable the deletion-property and I need to add two push buttons as the video shows.

We face a problem using this solution. When you copy a record, you copy also the "date" field, which is expected to be auto (We need to have the current date in this field when the new record is created).

To avoid this problem, I need to explain the solution in a separate video, please wait for part 3.

Allowing copy-paste without copying the date field, is good when you make a database which keeps history records for ex. a product in a warehouse.

I hope you find this tutorial helpful.
