These booties are knitted top down. They make a great gift to the mother of any newborn.
Needed material: about 1 skein (50 gr.) of yarn, a set of 5 double pointed needles (size suitable for the chosen yarn) and a tapestry needle.
The following abbreviations are used in this pattern. Good luck with knitting your new monstrous friend and enjoy his company.
Sts - Stitches;
BO - Bind off;
Dpn - Double pointed needles;
RS - Right side;
CO - Cast on;
WS - Wrong side;
Sl - Slip;
P - Purl;
K2tog - Knit 2 stitches together;
K - Knit;
Inc - Increase;
YO - Slip yarn over/around needle.

Step 1: The Cuff of the Booty
CO 32 sts and knit a cuff that is 7 cm. long; Row 1 - K; Row 2 - *K2tog, YO*; Row 3 and 4 - K.
Step 2: Part of the Foot
Then knit the first 8 sts apart from the rest and make sure this part is long enough to pickup 6 sts from the side; Put all of the 44 sts on 4 dpn (that will be respectively 8, 16, 8 and 16 sts on the needles) and knit with a 5th; Row 1 - K; Row 2 to 5 - P; Row 6 to 9 - K; Row 10 to 13 - P.
Step 3: This Is Already the Last Part of It!
Then start decreasing for the sole like this: Row 1 and 3 and 5 - K; Row 2 - k2tog on the start of every needle and K2tog with the last two sts on every needle (you will end up with respectively 6, 14, 6 and 14 sts on the needles); Row 4 - k2tog on the start of every needle and K2tog with the last two sts on every needle (you will end up with respectively 4, 12, 4 and 12 sts on the needles); Row 6 - k2tog on the start of every needle and K2tog with the last two sts on every needle (you will end up with respectively 2, 10, 2 and 10 sts on the needles); BO, weave in loose ends and add a ribbon.
