If you're wondering what to wear with that beautiful dress of yours but you cant find anything quite catchy in the market here is a cheap project for you. This necklace looks luxurious contradicting the cost of making. There isn't much that's needed to make it . It takes about 2 hrs to make it and you don't even need to have any knowledge of as to how to stitch the cloth to make it or anything. Its all just some stones , a piece of cloth and glue. Now, let us get started.
Step 1: Materials Required
drop shaped kundan stones
a few embroidery patches
lobster clasp hook and lock
Glitter card stock sheets
Step 2: Cutting the Cloth
Cut the cloth to a boat shape with the top part having 2 inches more than the circumference of your neck. Glue the edges to the back 1 inch from each side.
NOTE:Remember that the width of the cloth must not bee too much such that it'll bend when you place it on your neck
Step 3: Basic Design
place the embroidery patches in the way you want and glue them to the front side of the cloth.
NOTE: Leave the edges as they will be to the back side of the choker necklace.
Step 4: Placing the Stones
Use the glue to place the stones and the half beads the way you want to design the necklace. Remember to not make it too crowded. The glue needn't perfectly accommodate the stones as it will dry off.
Step 5: Filling Up the Space
Place the rhinestones in a design that will fill up the remaining vacant area of the cloth . Here I also placed them around the patches to make it look grand.
Step 6: Stone Chain Decoration
Apply glue diagonally leaving the designed portion and place the stone chain with the stone side up. Cut the required length with the scissors.
NOTE: leave a cm gap between the diagonals atleast
Step 7: Making It Shimmering
Cut the glitter cardstock sheet 1cm thickness and stick it in between the stone chains. Cut off the extra sheet.
This will make the choker stand stiff on your neck .
Step 8: Attaching the Extra Piece
Cut a rectangle of required length about 3cm thickness and glue the ends to the back by folding in to make perfect edges.Glue this rectangular cloth to the back of the choker necklace halfway from the corners.
Step 9: Decorating the Strips
Place the rhinestones in the fashion as shown and repeat the same with two more strips placed 1/4th the distance from each end
Step 10: Veil Shawl
Glue the stone chain to the back of the rectangular cloth in an arc shape from the end of the boat shape. Make 3 more arcs along the length as shown.
Step 11: Finishing Up
Repeat the previous step 3 or 4 more times increasing the curve length each time as shown in the picture.Attach the hook(with ring) 2 cms from the end by making a hole in the cloth. Repeat the same 2cms from the corner. On the opposite side attach the ring also 2 cms away from the corner by making a hole in it
Step 12: Ready to Adorn Your Neck
This choker is now complete. Wear it to any party to catch a lot of eyes. Do let me know how it turned out for you. I hope you like it. Crafted with lots of love. Thanks a lot for stopping by :)
