Obviously I had a lock on the closet , I did this by making slots in the strips where te could be slid in. Trough attaching springs on the back of the drawer, the strip would be pushed to a side of the slot. By making this, the strip could not move until you pushed the drawer. Now that you have read the idea of me , I will tell you step by step how I made the cabinet.
Step 1: Invent Measurements and Shapes
Invent measurements, I have done this by thinking that it most be practical, small and cheap .
Step 2: Drawing
Drawing of the parts through solidworks .
Step 3: Cutting!
Cutting the cabinet and drawer , using a CNC cutting machine at work. Unfortunately have no pictures of this process . I tried to cut as much as possible in miter , to later see a minimize seams again.
Step 4: Milling!
After cutting the parts, I used a milling machine , to make the different slots in the cabinet and drawer. Because the slots have different kinds of depths, the metal strips would never fall out.
Step 5: Grinding!
grinding of the Plexiglass , try to support the plate as much is possible.
Step 6: Making the Strips!
Cutting, milling, drilling, tapping and grinding of the strips . Firstly cutting of the strips, immediately after drilled the holes and tapped, after I screwed a bolt in the strips , so that the strips exactly have the same dimensions at the end of the process. Milled the strips so that the have later on a better conductivity with the timber. After that I create a camber such as the magnet .
Step 7: Assemble the Springs
Assemble the springs through loctide 401 . Very strong.
Step 8: Gluing the Cabinet and Drawer
Gluing the cabinet and drawer with Bizon houtlijm , After that I finished it with a dremel and sandpaper.
Step 9: Making the Handles!
First milling the handles in the right shape, after that drilling the holes for the magnetics. The magnetics wich I order had a wire end. I smacked the end of the magnetic in the holes of the handles
Step 10: Painting It!
Painting the cabinet and drawer with the familiar black dots making it a dominoes. This also let you see where to place the handles
Step 11: Conductivity!
At last rub in the interior of the cabinet with suet to get a good conductivity.
