    How long is it?
    Like how much leather would you need to cut to make say 15 inches?

    To make around 15'', you would need 3 20'' strands of leather. The twining part does cause you to lose 1/2'' - 1'' over the whole length...most of the length-loss comes from tying the knots on the ends of the cord.
