Make Free Long Distance Calls to Any US Business

About: ***Look for new video's and Instructable on the 2nd and last Tuesday's of every month.***

OK you're at the airport about to get on a plane to New York. Your high school buddy calls you and would like to meet you at Angelo & Maxie's for dinner. You say, "Sure I'll make the reservations." Then you hang up.

Then you remember you don't have the number, and you hate paying for 411, plus you are low on minutes on your cell phone. This next call could cost up to $5.

No worry there is a way to get the phone number and make the call for FREE!!!!! on any landline or cell phone with free minutes.

Step 1: What to Do:

Go to a pay phone and call 1-800-GOOG-411 or (1-800-466-4411)

It will ask "What City & State?" You say "New York, New York"

It will ask "What business name or category?" You say "Angelo & Maxie's"

GOOG411 will give you the:
Phone Number
and connect the call for free

Yes it's free. Google doesn't charge you a thing for the call or for connecting you to the business. Regular phone charges may apply, based on your telephone service provider.

Step 2: NOTES:

This will only work on business numbers.

You may have to pay for minutes on your cell phone. (read your service plan)

OMG so funny, in Canada it "works" but you get a google employee mimicking the automated message by saying "doo doo doo, the number you have dialed is currently not in service... doo doo doo"

The GOOG-411 website says pay phones are currently not supported. I don't have a pay phone in my house to test it out though...

I didn't know that Google was offering this service. Is it just in North America, or in the rest of the world too?

Is this one of those things where the business pays to be on the GOOG411 list, but almost no one has heard of GOOG411, so most businesses are not on the list and cannot be called?

No it is a full list. May have to wait about 1/2 years or less for a new business to be added. but a full list.
