This is the recipe

1 pound of ground beef.

.5 cups of chopped onion

’salt and pepper to taste

2 teaspoons garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated

1 tablespoon of sesame oil

.5 teaspoons of honey

1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce

1.5 tablespoons lime juice

3 stalks green onion, chopped.

.25 cup peanuts chopped (we left out the peanuts).25 cup peanuts, chopped

1 medium head iceberg lettuce

Step 1: Ground the Beef With Onions in a Skillet for the Asian Lettuce Wraps

Get out your pan and brown the meat with the onions. Cook the meat until it is almost cooked and the onion start to wilt. You can add your seasoning if you like. You can use salt and pepper just like the recipe. I found this recipe on pinterest. It was from,

Step 2: Add in the Garlic and the Ginger

Then add in the garlic and ginger until the meat has been cooked. The flavors that are coming off the meat right now is so strong. It smells like this is going to be good.

Step 3: Mix in the Bowl of Sauces You Had Sat Aside Earlier

In a bowl mix in the sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, water, sriracha sauce. Add into the ground beef mixture. Stir into the beef and mix to coat.l Cook for a minute or until the mixture thickens. and then remove from heat.

Step 4: Add in the Cilantro and the Green Onions and Lime Juice.

Mix in the cilantro and the green onions and stir in the lime juice and now all you need to do is grab your lose leaf lettuce and wrap the beef mixter around your lettuce. I am sure you will get lots of request make this again. The next time i have a pound for hambuger this is what I'll make.

Step 5: Tear Off Some Lettuce of Your Choice and Eat

Tear and wash off any lettuce leafs that you are going to use. With the lettuce leafs on your plate add a spoonful on the lettuce leaf and roll it up and eat. These are so good and you are getting some greens in your diet also. We are going to try it out with different lettuce. If you are freezing this dish, Let it thaw and then heat and warm it up. Your version sounds yummy, hope you had a great Mother's Day meal together.
We make a version of this meal at home with many variations, but love it as it is so versatile.

serve it with rice, rice noodles as a salad or with rice noodles wrapped up in rice paper rolls.

Change mince to chicken, pork or turkey, depending on special offers at shops.
Add lemongrass to meat mixture along with garlic & ginger.
Add sliced spring onions or chives; chopped fresh mint & a few leaves of basil; strips of fresh carrot (done with vegetable peeler), strips of cucumber & capsicum/ bell pepper and bean sprouts to increase the veg quotient.
Last week cooked some of veggies separate from meat as a side dish as starting to turn cold here, was really tasty with rice.
All good versions & excellent for gluten free child in household - would need to check sauces are gluten free though.
Same child likes to take leftovers heated up in flask next day for lunch.
Had forgotten about lettuce wraps, may use that next time as haven't done those for ages.
