Introduction: Making a 3-Piece Burr

About: Hello I'm a college student that enjoys making things with machines and hand tools, using materials like metal, wood, clay, and plastic. I am trying to start my own business in making small crafts, jewelry and…

Greetings again everyone. This was the first piece made with my puzzle piece making jig. It is by far the easiest burr I will be making but I promise i will find and come up with some newer designs. Hope you enjoy as much as I do making these..

Step 1: Materials

Puzzle Piece making jig (Posted in an earlier instructable)

Saw (Table saw is required)

Table saw guide

1/2 X 1/2 X 10 inch wood

Knife

Step 2: Measurements

This puzzle has 3 pieces each is 1.5 inches long (1 and 1/2 inches). Two pieces are exactly the same except one has a rounded edge. The first two pieces have two notches 1/2 inch in diameter perpendicular to each other as seen in the picture. The last piece has two cuts also perpendicular to each other but are only 1/4 inches from each other. Once everything has been cut you can use your knife (or sandpaper) to clean up the slots and make it to where the puzzle pieces fit into each other nice and snug.

Step 3: Putting It Together

This page shows you step by step how to put this puzzle together. Make sure that the vertical piece has a rounded edge. Remember to like and vote for my Instructables!
