Introduction: Making of Extension Wire

What is Extension wire? An extension cord, power extender, drop cord, or extension lead is a length of flexible electrical power cable (flex) with a plug on one end and one or more sockets on the other end (usually of the same type as the plug). The term usually refers to mains (household AC) extensions but is also used to refer to extensions for other types of cabling. If the plug and power outlet are of different types, the term "adapter cord" may be used.

Step 1: Tools and Materials Needed:

1. Combination Pliers

2. Flat cord AWG #18

3. Long nose Pliers

4. Wire stripper

5. Phillips Screw Driver

6. Male Plug

7. Convenience Outlet

Step 2: Steps in Making Extension Cord

First get your flat cord and split the wire into two. Then Strip the end part of the wire about 15 mm. After you strip the wire you can now place the wire on your convenience outlet. Make sure that the stripped wire is twisted to avoid wire cut.

Step 3: Start Putting Your Flay Cord on the Convenience Outlet First.

Open the convenience outlet and notice the nuts in the om it. Twist the end part of your flat cord before before placing your wire.

Step 4: Place the Flat Cord Into the Convenience Outlet

Tighten the nuts on the convenience outlet and be sure that the wire around the nuts are properly placed. Last, cover your convenience outlet properly and secure it by its nuts/bolt.

Step 5: How to Place Flat Cord on Male Plug

First, split the flat cord in about 40 mm.

Then again strip the and part of the cord 15 mm long, be sure to twist the end part of the stripped wire to avoid cut wire.

Step 6: How to Attach Flat Cord to Male Plug

Insert the wire in the male plug and do the under writter's knot to avoid stress on the wire and for security.

Step 7: Putting the Wire Into the Nut/bolts

Place the twisted wire into the nuts and tighten the nuts. Be sure that the wire around the nut is properly placed and no hanging wire.
