Summer is here! It is the perfect time to post the Mango mint Ice Tea. It is now mango season here in India and that is the reason why I chose the mangoes. The fruit market is filled with all varieties of mango and it is a lovely sight to see. The Ice tea brings relief from the summer heat and a healthy way to begin the day.

Step 1: Ingredients Required

Serves - 4

Preparation Time - 5 minutes

Cooking Time - 15 minutes

Mango Pulp - 1.5 Cup (Use mangoes which are juicy and less fibrous)

Black Tea Powder - 3 Tsp (or) Black Tea Bag - 4

Water - 3.5 Cup

Sugar - 1 Tbsp (or) As you desire

Lemon Juice - 1/2 Tsp

Mint Leaves - 5-8

Tools Required:

Step 2: Get Things Ready

Slice the mango to small cubes.

Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.

Step 3: Blend

Transfer the mango cubes into the blender.

Blend the mangoes till they form smooth textured puree with no lumps.

Refrigerate it for about an hour till well cool.

Step 4: Tea Concentrate

Take the measured amount of water and heat it till hot. I used the microwave here.

You can heat the water even on the stove top.

To the hot water add the Black tea powder or the Black tea bags.

Also add mint leaves and lemon juice.

Step 5: Aroma

Close the lid so that the tea concentrate prepared will be infused with lemon, mint and tea.

This is the aromatic stage.

Step 6: Strain

After 10 minute strain to remove the mint leaves and the tea powder.

Transfer the tea concentrate also to the refrigerator.

Let it cool for 1 hour or till well cooled.

Step 7: Ice Tea!

Now take both mango pulp and tea concentrate out of the refrigerator.

Add sugar at this stage. Combine them well in a blender.

Garnish with few mint leaves.

Enjoy your summer drink.

Squeeze the mango gently. A ripe mango will give slightly. The color outside is not an indicator of ripeness. Judge by feel. Alphonso Mango is one of the good variety of mangoes. Hope this helps you :)
