first i bought 8 planks or boards of pin wood and 4 square poles (fence poles in wood ) from a garden shop

and some MDF really thin

The rest of the furnitures i had it in my worshop

Pour ce lit j'ai acheté 8 planches de sapin et 4 poteaux carré de jardin, une plaque de MDF trés fin.

Le reste des fournitures viennent de mon atelier

Step 1: Assembling the Bed / Montage Du Lit

i mounted all together wit the tenon and mortice technique.

no big tool required , only schisel and drill

you will see more details later on

j'ai monter le lit en tenon mortaise

Pas besoin de gros outils, seulement sciseaux à bois et perceuse.

Step 2: Bedspring / Sommier

i made the bedspring with planks from another bed

the most important is to mark every piece of wood

then i assembled the bed all together to see if everything works correctly before starting the decoration

j'ai fabriqué le sommier avec les planches d'un vieux lit

Le plus important est marquer toues les pieces de bois

Puis j'ai assemblé le lit complet pour voir si tout marchait correctement avant de commencer la décoration.

Step 3: Preparation of the Canopy / Préparation Du Ciel De Lit

i glued and screwed brackets all arround the bed and attached the curtains rods with leather straps on four side

J'ai collé et vissé les tasseaux sur tout le tour du lit et attaché les barres à rideaux avec des bandes de cuir sur les quatre côté

Step 4: Canopy / Ciel De Lit

i inserted little wood dowels all arround the bed on the brackets

Making the canopy :

i sewed together two piece of fabric together , velvet and a thick piece of linen ( old linen bed sheets like more than 60 years old)

To reinforce the fabric, i sewed a leather band all around and i made holes to fit in the dowels

at last, to mask the curtains rods , i sewed a band of royal blue coton

J'ai insérer les chevilles sur tout le tour du lit sur les tasseaux

Fabrication du ciel de lit

J'ai cousu ensemble deux piece de tissu: velour et drap en lin de grand mére

Pour réenforcer le tout , j'ai cousu une bande de cuir sur tout le pourtour et percé au niveau de chaque cheville

finalement, pour masquer les barres de rideaux, j'ai cousu une bande de coton bleu royale.

Step 5: Matress / Matelas

this step is easy , i took a foam matress from an old convertible couch and cut it at the right size i needed, then i sewed fabric to protect it

Cette étape est facile, j'ai pris un vieux matelas de clic clac et l'ai coupé à la bonne dimension, puis j'ai cousu une protection en tissu

Step 6: Decoration / Décoration

I drew my decoration on my plank and then made a template in a cereal box , to drow the design on the planks

then i cutted the Mdf parts and glued it together

at last i nailed the decorative nails

J'ai dessiné les décorations sur la planches avant des les reportées sur une piece de carton afin de les déssiner plus facilement

J'ai ensuite coupé les pieces de mdf avant de les coller

en final j'ai cloué des clous décoratif

Step 7: Painting / Peinture

For this step : paint everything in white then the decoration in blue

paint the nails in gold

i haded thin planks on the poles of the bed to mask the mortices

Pour cette étape: peignez le tout en blanc puis la décoration en bleue

peignez les clous en doré

j'ai rajouté des planches fines pour masquer les mortaises

Step 8: Painting Poles / Peinture Des Poteaux

i put masking tape on the poles and my daugther helped me paint the poles :)

then for the drawing , i made a cardbord template , drew with a pencil and use a marker like a Poska pencil wich is an acrylic paint marker to do the drawing

J'ai posé du scotch à peinture pour protéger le blanc et ma fille m'a aidé pour peindre les poteaux :)

Pour les motifs , je me suis fait un patron en carton puis j'ai déssiné les motif au crayon que j'ai ensuite repasser au marqueur type poska ( marqueur acrilique )
