Introduction: Poori are one of the most used and most liked part of Indian food and people have it in breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is almost always the part of Indian ceremonies and function which contain Indian food.

Here is a poori with addition of some fenugreek leaves (Methi leaves). The twist will feel great to your taste buds and you can have it in morning breakfast or evening snacks with with Green Chutney, Tomato Chutney, Raita, Sauce or even with any pickle along with a cup of Coffee or Tea. I bet it just try it once and you will love it.

Step 1: Ingredients


  • 3-4 bowls wheat flour.
  • 1 bowl washed and pat dried fresh Methi leaves(Fenugreek leaves).
  • Salt as per taste. 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder.
  • 2 tomato.
  • 3-4 green chilli
  • 1 small bowl Coriander.
  • 3-4 garlic pods.
  • Some ginger.

Step 2: Grinding

  • Take coriander in grinder.
  • Add Garlic.
  • Add Ginger.
  • Add green chilli.
  • Add Chopped tomato.
  • Add Some salt.
  • Grind into fine paste.

Step 3: Kneading

  • Now take wheat flour in a large utensil.
  • Add Methi (Fenugreek), While adding crush it with your hands.
  • Add remaining salt. Add red chilli powder.
  • Add the grinded paste.
  • Add very little oil.
  • Now start kneading by keep adding very little amount of water.
  • Knead till the flour becomes soft. After needing leave for 3-4 minutes to set.
  • Make small spheres out of the above flour.

Step 4: Frying

  • Add oil in Kadhai.
  • Once heated take very little oil out of it in a small bowl.
  • Now take the rounded sphere and immerse momentarily in taken oil.
  • Now make poori (Indian bread) out of it with the help of Belan (An Indian style rolling pin).
  • Put the Poori in heated oil and fry till it becomes light brown.
  • Once fried take it out leaving the oil behind. Prepare the remaining pooris in similar way.

Step 5: Serving

  • Transfer it to the serving plate.
  • Present the Methi Pooris in a serving plate along with Coriander Chutney, Raita or tomato/Chilli Sauce.
