Intro: Milk Carton Puppet
This is an easy to make puppet. You use a recycled material also.
Step 1: MATERIALS
To make this instructable you need:
2. A Whoppers carton or a milk carton or an orange juice carton. Make sure that they are card board!
4. Construction paper
5. Other decorations
Step 2: CUTTING OFF THE TOP
Open up the spout and make a cut that goes to the end of the spout. [1picture]. Open the spout on all sides and cut so there is four flaps. [2picture]. Then cut off the flaps so its is an open box. [3picture].
Step 3: THE NEXT CUT
Now cut a straight line down 2 of the corners all the way to the bottom. Make sure that the corners are diagonal to each other.[1picture]
Step 4: THE FOLD
Now grab the two sides of the carton that are separated from each other and fold them backwards so they look like the picture. Make sure that you don't rip them.
Now you have the base of your puppet.
Step 5: THE MOUTH
If you want to color the mouth take a piece of construction paper and fold it in half. Put the paper in the mouth and squeeze it down so it stays. The paper should have the folded side in the mouth.[picture1] Now cut around the mouth so there is a diamond/triangle shape in your character's mouth. Glue the diamond/triangle in the mouth, it should fit perfectly.
Step 6: COVERING THE BODY
To make your construction paper fit on the body, fold it in half. Next, take the half sheet of paper and line it up with the mouth.[picture1] Cut at where the carton ends on your paper.[picture2] Unfold the paper and glue it on.[picture3] Cut ff the extra paper.
Step 7: FINISHING TOUCHES
Once your body and mouth are covered you can put eyes, arms, and more! You can make it your own.
To use the puppet part just put your fingers in the back and squeeze to close its mouth.
