Mother's Day Decorative Flip Flops

Introduction: Mother's Day Decorative Flip Flops

About: Scholar. Instructor. Web & Graphic Designer. Editor. Maker. Hacker. Photographer. TV Watcher. Baker. Florida Gator.

Every summer, my husband's family goes to the beach, so when trying to decide what to give my mother-in-love, I decided I wanted to theme it around the beach. I started with a set of anklets I found at Target and went from there. She loves teal, so I ended up going with a gold and teal theme. Every good beach day needs a good pair of flip-flops, but since I couldn't find what I wanted in the store, I decided to make some!

Step 1: Gather Materials

What you'll need:
1- pair of flip flops
2- 48" decorative ribbons
2- matching charms
Hot glue

Step 2: Decorate Straps

To decorate the straps:
1. Wrap the middle of a strand of ribbon twice around the middle stem of the strap, starting from front to back.
2. Thread the ends of the ribbon through the loops on the charm.
3. Tightly wrap the ribbon around the left and right straps.
4. Hot glue at the end of the wrapping.
5. Cut off excess.

Step 3: Finishing Touches

To make a great gift, pick a theme.
I themed this gift around gold and teal accessories:
1- pair of unique hand decorated sandals
1- pair of sunglasses
1- bottle of teal nail polish
2- bracelets
3- pairs of earrings
3- anklets
Emory boards
Nail polish remover pads

@Ritik, I love LEDs! Maybe not for Mother's Day but a cool idea for another time! Thanks!

The Width of Flip-flops could have a thin Blue LED strip connected to it and that would have looked awesome!!!!!.But still awesome Project!!!
