Intro: Mp3 Ammo Can
this is a instructable for mp3 ammo can for hiking camping or just picnicking on a nice day
Step 1: To Start With You'll Need the Following Items in the Pictures Below
in the first step you'll need a 50 cal plastic ammo box from walmart for around 15 dollars.
Step 2: The First Step Image
this ammo can has 2 latches on the end and a hinge on opposite end. it also has a waterproof gasket to keep it dry inside.
Step 3: In Step 2 Showing the Process to Begin.
this is a template to place the main parts of the mp3 player.
Step 4: This Steps Shows the Components for the Cutouts.
each of these components has it's own location on the template cutout. the push button and lcd screen are for the battery voltage witch can be checked at anytime the device is powered on.
The little device with remote is the mp3 player. it is bluetooth connection or 3.5mm headphone/aux input connection. it can also play music from a thumb drive or micro sd card. it also has a built-in am/fm radio. All options can be controlled by the tiny remote control.

the speakers are 3 1/2 inch 50 watts a piece. they were purchased from Amazon for 10 dollars.
Step 7: Here Are Some of the Inside Components
this is the wire which came with speakers. it is used for most of the wiring of the mp3 player. the little electric device is a 15x2 watt amplifier to boost up the sound for the 2 50 watt speakers. this is also the battery that powers it all. It's a 12v 7 amp hour battery I bought for 12 dollars at Wal-Mart after hunting season was over.
Step 8: The Charging Components
this is the 12v charge controller the 12v 10watt solar panel and a 12v dc wall wart. a wall wart is a ac to dc charging de vice used for handheld radios or batteries for small electronic devices
Step 9: Tools Used
in this step there isn't a picture posted. the tools used are your basic electronic tools. such as soldering iron ,wire cutters, solder and wire. a drill and a box cutter to cut out the template
Step 10: Final Step
this is the final outcome of all those components put together.
it plays very well and pretty load. It's not waterproof to the outside components but all the inside components are waterproof from the elements.
