Step 1: Ingredients
Gather up your ingredients. Again, this can all be adjusted to suit your own taste. Experiment.
As an example, I've included;
- Orange (the peel)
- Red wine
- Lemon (wedges)
(Other ingredient may include nutmeg, fennel seed (or star anise), cloves, cardamom, and ginger.)
Step 2: Combine
Add everything to a pot and place on the stove. You can turn the element to high, but be sure to remove the mulled wine before it boils, or all the alcohol will evaporate.
Step 3: Simmer, Strain & Serve
Once the mulled wine hits a simmer, remove from the heat and strain out the added ingredients.
Grab yourself a couple of glasses, find a friend and enjoy!
