Which powerbank to choose ?
DSLR style cameras require a very specific amperage. The editing you saw in video, I tried it with several power sources from 1 to 2.1 amperes. With an amperage of 2.1, the camera turns on but does not work properly, the shutter remains locked in the open position. After several days of research, I found that I needed a power source greater than 2.5 amperes. This is why I directed my choice on the power bank of the ANKER brand that has the distinction of adapting to the device connected and that it can provide a maximum amperage of 4.8 amperes.
As for the capacity of the battery, I chose 20,000 Mah for not having to recharge it with each use.
It is a small electronic card that allows to go from a voltage of 5 volts (Power bank output) to a voltage identical to your original battery. For this, simply turn the small screw and help a voltmeter.
To give energy to your camera with an external source, you need to insert a false battery with a cable. There is practically for all models of camera. Just search in a dummy Battery search engine followed by your original battery model.
Step 2: Pierce the Caps
To protect the MT3608 board, I chose to take three pieces of 32mm diameter PVC. A female / female sleeve and 2 male screw caps.
I start by drilling the plugs through a hole of the same diameter as my cables
Step 3: First Cable
Take your USB cable and cut it to keep only the USB plug (type A).
Strip the severed part to expose the cables.
Locate and strip the black and red cables. And pass your first cap.
Step 4: MT3608 Card
Take your MT3608 card and solder to it. The red wire on the VIN + side and the black cable on VIN-. Other remaining cables will not be used.
Step 5: Setting the MT3806
Take a voltmeter to adjust the MT3608 board. Connect the USB plug to your Power bank and check the voltage at the output of the card. Use a screwdriver to increase or decrease the voltage to match the original battery
Step 6: Solder the Remaining Cable
For this step, start to pass the sleeve and lock it into the USB cable plug. Then take your remaining cable and solder the red wire to VOUT + and the black wire to VOUT-.
Then put your last cap in the cable.
Step 7: Solder the Jack Plug
At the end of the cable, solder the Jack plug. The red wire in the center and the black wire on the outside.
Step 8: Dummy Battery
To avoid polarity problems, select the original jack on your dummy battery and strip the cable. Then solder your wires, red in the center and black on the outside.
Step 9: Paste
Glue the different PVC parts and screw the protections of your jacks. Insert your battery into your camera and take a test.
