Introduction: Nespresso Caps Earrings

About: I love to cook, ride bike (and repair) and build whatever I can think of building; even if I'm not able to do it or I don't have the necessary equipment! :D

When I finished making the Nespresso Caps Pendant I decided to make a pair of earrings too.

They are made with the same technique I used for the pendant, but I decided to use smaller rolls instead.

It takes very little to make them and they are completely recycled!

Step 1: Materials

To make this earrings you need just a few tools and materials:

  • Empty Nespresso caps
  • Conical pliers
  • Jewelry wire (0,8 mm)
  • Wooden bead (mine is 8 mm)
  • Super glue
  • Cutter
  • 2 earwires

Step 2: Cut the Rings

The first thing you have to do is separating the ring base from the rest of the capsules. Cut them out using a cutter. You don't have to keep both pieces, you just need the rings.

When you are done, cut each ring into 4 equal pieces, as you can see in the picture.

Step 3: Roll the Rings

Grab the tip of one piece of ring with your pliers and start rolling it into a spiral. Try to roll it as tight as possible.
Do this with all of your pieces. If you use a bead that is as big as mine, you will need about 14 rolls per earring.

Refine the bottom of each roll using scissors and give them the same height.

Step 4: Make the Loop

Cut a piece of wire and twist the end with your pliers to make a loop. You'll need this loop to attach the earwire at the end.

Fold the other side of the wire on the inside using pliers. The fold you've just created must be a little bigger than the hole of your bead so you can insert it and block it.

Step 5: Glue the Rolls

Start gluing some of your rolls around your bead to cover the whole circumference.

When you're done, glue some other rolls on a side and then on the other side. You'll cover the whole surface of the bead this way.

Your first earring is done!

Step 6: Make the Other Earring and You're Done!

Repeat all steps to make the other earring, then add the earwire to the loop you previously made on each earring.

Your earrings are done. Aren't they cute? They are perfect for coffee lovers! :D
