70% More Solar Collection? Newest Dripper Tracker Design to Rotate Solar Panels on Equatorial Mount.

About: I am a stone mason. My hobby is making new solar cooking and gardening stuff. I have used solar heat to cook soil for a couple of years. In mother earth news in January, i read that their compost expert does...

I did dripper trackers a few years ago because I saw a need, got some great comments and some prizes  and I thought people would surely try them and develop them further.  But nothing happened.
Here is the latest simplest version. The barrel of water is an easily controlled way to move a solar panel or solar cooker reflector.  As the water drips out of the barrel the solar panel must move! Today I did a test. It takes about 3 kg of weight to move the panel and with 25 kg the  half filled float in the barrel will move it no problem at all!   Playlist for the dripper tracker in action is at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA00D159D0DA7CC27&feature=view_all

Hi, Rimar2000, it has captions now. Please note that this demo was just to show how the dripper part works, I have made dripper trackers before but this the first time that one float does everything. (The first ones had 2 floats or a float and a counterweight.)

The other videos show the full device and also show how it moves stuff.
I still need to make a waterclock or the liquid piston thing to control the timed release of the water. But this is a really big start.

Hi, Sorry, youtube did not do a machine transcript this time so it is a bit harder to do the transcript. (Usually I edit the one that they produce. ) It is on my list of things to do soon. Brian
