Oil Powered Essential Oil Diffuser

About: I am a 13-year-old DIY hobbyist. I mainly focus on electronics, but I dabble in other areas as well. (Yes, if you noticed my profile picture, I am a crypto enthusiast)

This project is an Essential Oil diffuser- powered by an oil lamp. Although there are many, many, many essential oil diffusers on the market and on Instructables, I have yet to find one that is actually powered by oils. So this will be a first. Let's begin!

Step 1: Gather Materials

Here is what you will need:

Small & Medium sized lab flasks- Amazon

Candle Wicks- Amazon

Paraffin Oil

Cardboard

Packing tape

Hot Glue Gun

Step 2: Cut the Cardboard

Cut the cardboard into three rectangles, measuring at about 5"x1.5". Now cut a square, whose dimensions are 3.5"x3.5". Soak the rectangles (not including the square, for all you geometry whizzes who know that a square is a rectangle) in water for about 30 seconds each. Now wrap the rectangles in packing tape.

Step 3: Putting It All Together

First, braid four candle wicks together and fill the small flask with the paraffin oil. Next glue the three rectangles to the square, which acts as a base (picture above). After the glue dries, set the bigger flask, filled with water and the essential oils of you choice, on the cardboard triangle. Place smaller flask under the structure. Now light the wick, and your done!
