Introduction: Origami Paper Sconce

About: huge geek with a creative drive and too much free time

So if you have ever seen any of my origami 'ibles, then you should know that I stink at it. This "wall sconce" was created by accident. It's a very funny story, actually. I was trying to learn how to make an origami crane. I cannot find ANY instructables that could properly teach me how to make an origami crane, and I was so mad.

Anyways, I was trying to figure out what to put where after the base and slipped it into the incorrect slot. Although my hopes for making an origami crane were demolished, I had just created something new... and that was an origami wall sconce! With a few additions, this baby was ready to be made into an 'ible. So let's make this super easy origami thingy!

Step 1: Gather Your Stuff

You will need
•3 pieces of construction paper
•Scissors

Step 2: And We're Gonna Let It Burn

Now it's time to make some flames! I'm talking some orange, yellow, red... fire colors. So fold two pieces of paper (yellow and orange) in half and cut. Then cut even little rectangles (the "flames").

Step 3: Making a Square

To make a square sheet of paper, follow the pictures! It's easier that way, trust me=P

Step 4: Let's Make Some Creases!

First, food the paper in half. Do the same in the other direction. Then fold diagonally both ways and unfold everything until you have a square with lots of creases.

Step 5: Let's Start Folding!

Now it's time to fold! Follow the pictures!

Step 6: Folding It Up

Now your sconce is complete!

Step 18: Add and Shape the Flames

Now it's time to light this baby... with PAPER FLAMES! Be careful: WARNING...THE FLAMES ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! CAN GIVE YOU A PAPER CUT! It's true. Add some paper flames and BAM! you're done=P

Step 19: Voila! Awesome Sconce!

I hereby declare you finished with this origami thingy! Get it? I'm trying to sound all old-timey! No? Okay, maybe not... Thanks for viewing! Leave suggestions for any required tutorial and I will make one! Bye bye=D
