Introduction: PVC Dishtowel Holder

About: Hi, I'm Jovan but everybody calles my John. By profession I'm a graduate technician of mechatronics and by passion deeply in love with everything that's DIY; from woodworking to electronics and cooking.

Ello guys

You know that moment when you have a lot of dishtowels hanging everywhere and when you need to pick up a hot teapot, you dont know where are they; just like in my case.
So i made a dishtowel holder, and all my towels are organized in one place and i dont need to run all over the kitchen to get one, lol. I hope you like.

Step 1: Tools and Parts

Okey,so for this pvc holder you'll need 2 m of 3/4 inch pvc pipe, little bit of fittings and some clamps. All these parts & tools you can find in your local hardware store and besides that, they aren't expensive; i mean it all cost me 3 dollars.

Parts :

  • Pvc pipe (3/4 inch) 2 m
  • Pvc knee 90* - 4 pcs
  • Pvc tee-part - 3pcs
  • Pvc clamps & screws - 2 pcs

Tools :

  • Pvc pipe welder ( made my own from powerful soldering iron)

  • Electric Jig-saw if you don't have pvc pipe cutter
  • Measuring tape
  • Pen or a marker

Step 2: Cutting & Assembling

First thing i did is i cut down 3 pcs of half of meter (0.5m) long pipes and afterwards i have cut down 4 pcs of 4cm pipe.
When thats all done, i've turned on pipe welder and while waiting it for to heat up; i sorted the elements how they should look, which you can see in pictures.

A moment where pipe welder reach its temperature you're ready to start welding and by that i welded longer parts of pipe with knees & shorter with Tee parts. Assembled it all and its kinda finished.

Step 3: Finishing & Mounting

The body of a dishtowel holder is ready and all that needs to be done is to mark where it should be placed. Job is almost done with 2 pvc clamps. But there is a problem with it, cause holder wont stay still. It starts do rotate because of the clamps; which are just for mounting, not for holding it stiff.
That problem can easily be solved with one last Tee part, welded in the middle of a longer part that is facing the wall. Its middle leg is going to prevent the whole body from rotating & with that adjustment dishtowel holder is finished.
If you've done it and it turned out just like it in the pictures, your awesome, congrats. :)
I really hope you like it and i would love to hear your comments and thoughts about it.
