Step 1: Make a Cube Net
You want to get a piece of white paper(printer paper will do) you then will want to make a cube net. A net is a two-dimensional shape that can be folded into a three-dimensional object. But anyways the first thing you want to do is draw 4 2x2x2 squares in a row making sure they are touching (as shown in the picture above).
To make things easier to explain I numbered all of the squares. In order to make it easier to follow along, you should probably label them too.
PRO TIP: Using a ruler makes this a whole lot easier.
Step 2: Making a Cube Net (Cont'd)
After that, you are going to draw 1 more 2x2x2 square above and below square 3.
Step 3: Making a Cube Net (Cont'd)
Once you have that done you want to make notches. All these will do is making easier to fold and tape. You'll want to make 3 of them. 1 of them on the top edge of square 5 and on the bottom edge of square 6. Then, draw one on the right edge of square 4. The should be around the middle of the edge. The notches will be rectangles. The width is 1/2 half of an inch and the hight is 3/4 of an inch.
PRO TIP: The notches DO NOT have to be in the exact middle just eyeball it!
Step 4: Drawing!
You will want to draw a Mario-looking question mark(you can look one up for a reference) in 4 of the squares. You will want to draw them into squares 2,4,5 and 6. Make sure the dot of all of the question marks is facing square 3. You will also want to draw 4 small circles around each of the 4 corners.
PRO TIP: Use a ruler and lightly sketch in pencil first then darken your lines.
Once you have lightly sketched all four of the question marks you can either push harder with your pencil or use a pen to outline it. After you have outlined it, you can either color it in with your pencil, pen or marker OR you could leave is white in the center. (I personally colored them in black).
Step 5: Check-Up
Now that you have steps 1-4 done your net should look like this.
Step 6: Coloring Time!
Now take your yellow crayon, colored pencil, or marker and color all of the squares in making.
Step 7: Cut It Out!
Then take your scissors and cut out your whole net. DO NOT CUT THE SQUARES OUT INDIVIDUAL SQUARES! Also, make sure you don't cut notches off!
Step 8: Folding!
You are now going to fold up your net. Take square 4 and fold it up. Then take squares 1 and 2 and fold them over making square 1 the top of the cube and squares 2 and 4 the sides. You then want to fold up squares 5 and 6 making them the sides. You then want to tape all of it together.
PRO TIP: This is where the notches come in useful. Use them to use tape the edges together.
Step 9: Your Done!
You have successfully completed your paper Mario Mystery Box Enjoy!
