Introduction: Passive Phone Speaker - a CNC Project
This was a fun and pretty easy project. The speaker is made from inexpensive pine shelving. The design was created in Inkscape just using circles and rectangles. Once the design was made the files were saved as .svgs and then opened up in a program called Jscut at Jscut.org for tool paths.
The actual cutting was performed using an inexpensive 3040 CNC. It's surprising how well it works and the design is certainly unusual. The cool thing about passive speakers is that they are pretty forgiving and lend themselves to all kinds of cool variation.
