In the past I felt a great need to knit in red, white and blue, and thought "American flag". So I got out my needles and knitted away. I ended up with many hats, Christmas tree decorations and tea cosies! For my creations I used a lot of Lion Brand Homespun and Woolease I also used up oddments of Red Heart yarns in patriotic colours for the smaller items and bought new Red Heart yarns for the hats and some Caron Simply Soft yarn for the baby items, One of these days I am going to knit a Union Jack! Most of the patterns are sort of my own design with a little help from a couple of ancient tea cosy patterns and Jean Greenhowe's Christmas Special pattern book, which I adapted for my own devices.
