Introduction: Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie

This quick and simple healthy smoothie is great for anyone like me who is always on the go! It's a powerhouse of protein, fiber, and antioxidants for an overall energy fix. It's a healthy alternative to a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Vegans and gluten free lovers rejoice!

Step 1: Ingredients

* 1 banana

* 1 cup fresh strawberries

* 2.5 tbls peanut butter

* 1/2 cup almond milk unsweetened

* 1 tsp chia seeds

* 1 tsp ground flaxseed

* 1 package Acai super fruit pouch (if you cannot find, substitute for 1 cup frozen blueberries)

Did you know that chia seeds contain omega-3 fatty acids which is good for your heart and regulates your cholesterol. It also helps with glucose levels in your body and keeps you full longer which is great for those trying to lose weight. It is tasteless so it can be added to any food. Chia seeds can be a substitute for eggs in any recipe using 1 tablespoon chia seeds and 3 tablespoons water!

Flaxseed also contains omega 3's, fiber, and lignans which is a good antioxidant.

Step 2: Step 1

In a blender add the almond milk , peanut butter and banana.

Step 3: Step 2

add the Acai (or blueberries). Then add strawberries, seeds, and blend!

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

Makes two 6 oz servings. Top with blueberries if desired.
