Introduction: Penne Pasta W/ Broccoli and Tomato Garlic Butter Sauce
1 package (1 pound) of penne pasta
2 cups of pasta water
1/4 cup of butter
8 ounces of frozen broccolli florets
1 can of diced tomatoes
Begin to cook the pasta according to the package. About 7 minutes before the pasta is done, heat 1/4 cup of butter in a saucepan on medium. When the butter is completely melted and heated, increase the heat to medium-high, and add 8 ounces of frozen broccoli florets and heat for about 2 minutes. Add the can of diced tomatoes, cover and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add the seasonings according to taste and stir. Before draining the pasta reserve 2 cups of the pasta water, and set aside. Drain the pasta, return the pasta to the pot and add the pasta water along with the broccoli sauce. Blend well, and serve.
