Pletok beer is traditional drink of the BETAWI People in INDONESIA. Pletok beer is a refreshing drink made from a mixture of several spices, namely is ginger, fragrant pandan leaves, and lemongrass.

Although it contains words beer, But Pletok beer is not contain Alcohol. This drink Efficacious to smoothen circulation of blood. Betawi people consume this drink at night as warmers.

Step 1: The Ingredients:

    • 150 Gr Ginger
    • 2 Pcs Lemongrass
    • 2 Pandan Leaves
  • 4 Cm Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 5 Pcs Clover
  • 1/4 Tsp salt
  • 150 Gr Sugar
  • 50 Gr Brown sugar
  • 1,5 L Water

Optional:

  • 5 Pcs sappan wood (I'm not use it!) [For make the natural red color]

*Tsp = Tea spoon

Step 2: Grilled and Minced the Ginger

Grill the ginger until fragrant and minced it

Step 3: Boil the Ingredients

  • Boil ginger, brown sugar, lemongrass, cinnamon, cloves, & Pandan leaves to 1,5L water with small fire into boiling and fragrant. Then filter it.
  • Add Sugar, salt, and nutmeg, Stir well.
  • Boiled until dissolved and fragrant.

Step 4: Ready to Served!

Finish, and the Pletok beer is ready to served.

    Hi, would it be possible to use ground cinnamon rather than stick and if so at what quantity? i have everything else in the cupboard and the flavours sound fantastic, wouldn't mind having a go this afternoon
