Hello everybody.

I like using Popsicle sticks, so this summer i tried to make a small sailing boat.

Materials used: Popsicle sticks, felt, toothpicks and glue.

Step 1: The Masts

To make them you will need 3 Popsicle sticks. The middle will remain unchanged, while the first and last will be cut a little bit at the end. Glue them at the base of the vessel. Use directions from step 2.

Step 2: The Base of the Vessel

Place two Popsicle sticks adjacent to one another. In order to be glued together, you will use an extra Popsicle stick that you will cut into 3 equally sized pieces. Mark the positions that you will glue the masts. Glue like so: Popsicle stick-mast, stick-mast, stick-mast and finally stick.

Step 3: The Sails

You will make them by using felt in color of your choice. Take 2 toothpicks. Measure their length. The felt will be cut a few centimeters smaller than he toothpick. For instance if the toothpick is 5 cm, the felt will be 4 cm. This is for aesthetic reasons. The height depends on your choice, but it ranges from 5 to 6 cm. It is advisable not to stretch the felt, but to let it have a "grace" , the sails will look more natural. So you have the felt. Stick one toothpick in the upper and one on the lower side of the felt and when you are done glue the sails on masts. Start gluing from the bottom to the top.

When you have finished you can add 2 extra Popsicle sticks for decorative reasons. Stick one Popsicle stick on the left bottom of the boat and one on the right bottom.
