Introduction: Portable Mobile Interface for Any Electric Device

The Device..
The "Portable mobile interface" is a wonderful and cheap innovation which can be used to give any electric device, the ability to be switched on with a mobile phone. The whole process requires almost no skills and costs very less. The device is a plug and play type, so that you just have to hook up the device you want to control, to the portable interface device. You have garden plants, but are too busy to water them? just hook the pump to the device. The pump will automatically start working as soon as you call from your mobile phone. The same goes for every other device. Just plug and call and watch it in action. The mobile phone has a battery inside, so it makes the whole device portable and independent of the voltage to be switched.
The device is created using a complete changed thinking to the usual methods in electronics i.e to say that no board is used, no passive components like resistors or capacitors are used, moreover the whole device is created by recycling old things. Almost no skill and money is required to make the project. which is a unique feature of the system.
The device can give any  electric appliance, whether it is a bulb or a television, the ability to be switched on with a mobile phone, some simple alterations can make it more effective and a two control one too, i.e the ability to turn off too. All you have to do is, just connect the appliance's plug to the socket on the device and watch it going by the ring from your mobile from any corner of the world, and that too, free of cost..

Step 1: Collecting the Requirements

The project is made up of recycled material. So it it is both cheap, as well as environment friendly. The requirements are..
Requirements
A mobile phone ( either used or a new one)
Aluminium foil
A small motor(you'll find one in any electronics store or an old cd player a dvd player motor is the best option)
Wires
A plug
A Socket
A pen-refill pipe
A small box the size enough to fit a mobile phone inside

Tools
Scissors
Solder
Soldering iron

Miscellananeous
Skills in soldering ;) or an electrician

Step 2: Preparing the Mobile for the Device

So, we will begin our project with preparing the mobile phone for the device.
Cut two pieces of wires and open up the back of the mobile phone. Take out the battery, and unscrew the whole body. Find the location of the vibrating motor of the mobile. Now Solder the wires exactly the opposite of the Motor. Now close the back of the mobile carefully and take out the other ends of the wire through any of the edges of the mobile and put back the screws in their original place. Now you have have two wires emerging from the mobile carrying voltage which reaches the vibrating motor.

Step 3: Configuring the Mobile

After we have prepared our mobile, we have to configure it for the purpose. Our device triggers on the voltage reaching the vibrating motor. So we will be configuring it to send voltage pulses on receiving a call.
Open up the menu from the phone and select user profiles (varying on the phone type )
Select the active profile ( usually general )
Now go to call alert and select vibration. Now you have a mobile configured for the portable mobile controlling interface.

Step 4: Making the Conducting Hammer

Now we will prepare the conducting hammer which is an important part of the device.
Make a hole in the pen refill just enough to make a snug fit in the motor's axle.
Now cut up the refill to half the size to fit in the box.
Roll up a small sheet of aluminium foil into the shape of a hammer's head and tape it to the refill
Cut a piece of wire and connect the copper part to the aluminium foil hammer using masking or electrician's tape
Put the refill on the axle of the motor.
Now, our conducting hammer is ready!

Step 5: Preparing the Conducting Shield

Now we will prepare the Conducting shield of our Device. This is the last and the simplest Constituent of the circuit.
Just fold up a sheet of foil into a thick and tough block and tape the copper part of a wire in the back of the foil.
Our conducting shield is complete to be connected to the circuit.

Step 6: Putting It All Together

Putting the components to their places
Now, we have all the parts of the project ready, all we got to do is put them in place.
Take the box and tape the mobile phone inside.
Take the two wires you soldered to the mobile in step two, and solder the other two ends of the wire to the motor's power points.
Now tape or screw-join the motor to the top edge of the box, and put the conducting hammer on it's axle, facing the wall of the box.
Tape or fix the conducting shield to wall of the box, just adjacent to where the conducting hammer is facing.
Make a hole for the input wire from where the AC voltage from the mains ( or either DC voltage from the battery ) is coming.
Join the Socket to one of the walls of the box.

Wiring
Now, connect one wire from the input (either neutral or live) to one point of the socket and connect the other wire to the wire projecting out from the conducting hammer.
Now connect the wire from the conducting shield to the other point of the socket.
Cover the chassis, and fix the top with screws or masking tape.

Step 7: Just Plug and Play!!

Now our device is ready!! a non- circuit board based simplified electronic device that doesn't uses regular electronic components like resistors, complex flip-flops and requires almost no skills to make!!
Now, to see the project in action, plug it to any device, from the world's simplest battery-bulb circuit, to a television connected to the mains.
Now, as you make a call, pulses of voltage from the vibrating motor goes to the motor holding the conducting hammer, causing it to rotate. Thus, the conducting hammer touches the conducting shield, and the whole circuit completes and put the device in action!!!
A complex electronic process done without using electronic components( transistors, resistors, capacitors etc. ). Also, no circuit board is used !
Now you have a pocket sized device which can give any electric machine the ability to be turned by a mobile phone!
Moreover the whole process is free of cost as the call is not answered.
just plug the input wires to the mains and plug any device in the output socket of the circuit, and there you go!! the device can now be controlled with a mobile phone from any corner of the world and that too, free of cost !!!
