Introduction: Pressed Flowers in the Microwave
I had read about it and couldn't believe it would be that easy to have flat dried flowers, no waiting around and ruining good books.
It is that easy.

Step 1: Ingredients and Tools
- kitchen towel
- microwave / plate
- glass of water
Step 2: Flowers
Because I only wanted the petals I deconstructed the flowers then placed them between the folded kitchen towel.
Step 3: Microwave
The folded kitchen towel goes on the microwave plate, with the plate on top and the glass of water holding it down.
I think the glass of water does 2 things, holds the flowers flat and takes some of the microwave energy so it's not so easy to burn them.
I did 5 or 6 separate 30 second bursts at Simmer, (the second lowest temperature), checking after each one.
Step 4: Result
I was using them to decorate the 3 of Clubs for the #MelbourneArtCardChallenge and was really thrilled with how easy and successful drying in the microwave was, and how flat and "pressed" the flowers were.
