· chairs side by side- each chair: 500x500mm, total (4 chair rows):2000x500mm

· Desk: 900mmx1500mm, plus one chair: 500mmx500mm-total area = 2400x1500mm

__Total Area: __4mx5.9m =23.6m2

**Visiting Area:**

Visiting Area = 6 + guards

· Visitor standing area: 5900mm x 2000mm

· Guard area between visitor and prisoner area: 5900mm x 1000mm

· Prisoner visiting area: [5900mm x 2000mm] + ½ (2775mm x 5550mm) = 39.56m

__Total Area:__ 5900mm x 5400mm + ½ (2775mm x 5550mm) = 39.56m2

*Note: Some facilities are not square or rectangular in shape, and therefore require geometric calculations to find out the area.

__Prison Cells__

Number of People using the facility: 192 prisoners, each in 12 people cells = 16 cells (Note: due to area constraints caused by the laundry and medical room, two cells have been merged into one, and the total number of prisoners have been reduced, however, the theoretical number of prisoners remain same as the original 192.

· bunk beds: 1000x2000mm,

· With 1000mm between each bunk bed.

· 1200mm space from the wall to the first bunk bed to accommodate for the cell door.

· Note: Seven 7 seater tables (8 seat – 1 seat table), due to the table being against the wall.

· Double Tables (eight tables): 1000mm x 3000mm

· 1000mm space in between tables for walking,

· Since a row of tables are right beside the wall, 7 chairs are taken away and compensated by double tables and round eight seater tables.

· Serving counter 10700mm x 1000mm

· Dish Cart: 950mm x 460mm

· Dish Rack: 1000mm x 500mm

__Total Area:__ ½ (20m x 10m) +(4.5m x 10.2m) + ½(9.8m2) + ½(10m x 10m) + (10 x 10m) + ½(10m x 10m) + (14.142m2) + ½(10m x 10m) + (2m x 10m) = 663.92m2
