Project 3 - Seija Set

Introduction: Project 3 - Seija Set

A friend recommended Stoller's Stitch and Bitch, The Happy Hooker to me as a go-to guide for all things crochet. In it, I found the pattern for the Seija set and fell in love. I only made the blanket, which is done in alternating colors of off-white, pink and brown yarn in double crochet. The border is 3 rounds, of which the first two are single crochets. The third is mostly single crochets, but at either end, there are skipped spaces and double crochets for weaving the fat braid through. There is a small hole in the center for seat belts in carseats or strollers.

I'm really pleased with the way this blanket turned out and gifted it to my niece for her 1st birthday. However, I'm not very pleased with the way the pictures turned out - the pink does not pop in the images as well as it does in person.

I just started this project. Did you have to add stitches to the initial chain stitch to obtain the desired measurements? My 76 ch stitches measures only 12 inches, half of what the pattern says it should be. Thanks
