Putting Together Stars and Strips Earrings *Studs

Introduction: Putting Together Stars and Strips Earrings *Studs

A DIY tutorial to putting your Stars and Stripes earrings onto a pair of studs. Super simple and something that could be done as a group activity!

Step 1: Adjusting the Stripes

Before beginning, make sure that your stripes are all pointing in the right direction. They will most likely not be upon arrival.

To do this, find the top of the star. It will be the only point that does not have a stripe connected to it. To untangle or adjust the stripes, gently move them around until they are in the correct position.

Step 2: Tools

Tools you need to continue:
1.) Adhesive - preferably, something that is made for crafting and can stick multiple materials together.

2.) Earring Studs - can be purchased at local craft stores or online.

3.) Q-Tip - or something equally useful and disposable for applying the glue to the stud.

4.) Earring Back - can also be purchased at a local craft store or from online retailers.

Step 3: Stick It

1.) Place a dab of glue on the Q-Tip.

*Be careful, as this glue is prone to oozing if the cap isn't closed right after use.

2.) Paint the stud with the glue from the Q-Tip.

3.) Stick the Stud to the back of the earring.

4.) Wait at least five hours, to ensure that the glue has completely dried.

*24 hour dry time is recommended.

5.) Add the earring back when wearing, to prevent the earring from falling out.

Yep! I modeled them myself and had them printed through Shapeways. I plan on adding the links to them once I get the pictures from the photoshoot up!
