Introduction: Queen Bed With Storage

this is a bed will be made out of only filling cabinet (besides obviously the mattress).
you will need only a sheet of ply wood, 4 filling cabinets, a queen mattress and a ton of screws.

Step 1: Cut the Top Drawers

You will take the 4 filing cabinets and cut the top drawers off. While cutting the drawers, take out the drawers and take the filing cabinet apart as much as possible to make it easier to cut. Also make sure to measure the Length and width of the inside drawer so you don’t cut the drawer too short and don’t have the space to fit the drawer in. Do NOT throw the extra wood away! You will need the bottoms and the sides

Step 2: Take the Bottoms and Screw Them to the Bottoms of Each Cut Drawer

Take the drawers out and screw the bottom to the drawer with a flat Phillips head

Step 3: Cut the Spacers

Because the measurement of the mattress is roughly 80x60, there is a need for spacers (given the drawers are around 36 inches wide). For this I decided to make the spacers 10 inches wide so the bed had 2 extra inches just in case. Use the extra wood from the sides of the lower drawers and create the spacers.

Step 4: Drill the Spacers to the Drawers

take the drawers out and screw the spacers to the sides of the drawer ( on the inside )

Step 5: Drill Frame Together

keep the drawers out and drill the spacers to the back of the drawers that are parallel to the other.

Step 6: Place the Plywood on Inside the Middle

you could glue the ply wood to the inside of the drawers but I'm just placing a smaller piece in the middle because the drawers can hold the majority of the mattress.

Step 7: Place Mattress on the Bed and You're Done.

You're still here? It's over. Go home. Go.
