Introduction: Rainbow Candy Sugar Straws

About: Hi! I'm Isaac. I'm a 17 year old maker that can't keep my hands still. I aspire to show all other young people out there that you can be a great maker, no matter how old you are.

Fondant. You hate it or you love it. I'm on the "meh" side, but these straws made out of multicolored fondant just taste awesome (Also, you can poke one into an orange and have orange juice!) They don't take longer than half an hour and you can reward yourself with a cold drink and then eating the straw. Enough drooling (for now). Let's make!

Supplies

You'll need these supplies:

Fondant roller

Fondant (of course)

Food coloring

Bamboo skewers

Pizza cutter

Step 1: Roll

The title says it all. Roll that fondant flat, baby!

Step 2: Seperate

Cut the fondant into equal sections, depending on how many colors you'd like. I used six colors.

Step 3: Coloring

To color a section, use a toothpick to collect some coloring and knead it into the fondant. Remember, a little bit goes a long way!

Step 4: Reunited

Gather the fondant together and roll it flat. If you did it right, it should look like this. Now comes the straw-y part!

Step 5: The Straw-y Part

Roll up the fondant onto the skewers. You'll end up with more than one straw, which is good, because these are extremely tasty (Did I say that already?).

Step 6: Baking

Put the straws in an oven and bake them at 120 degrees for 15 to 30 minutes. Make sure to frequently check if they've hardened yet!

Step 7: All Done!

You've finally finished! Now you can relax. Make sure to share (Don't let the people you're sharing with know there's more straws though. These run out fast!)

Hope you enjoyed this instructable! I had fun making these!

If you made it, show it down below! I'm happy to give a premium membership to the first person who does!
